re: #1 mroop

Not one article has mentioned that this guy had to be selling illegal bootleg cd’s and movies. I guess it’s not relevant, but it is funny when they call him a cd salesman. It doesn’t sound so good if they call him a bootlegger.

He could have been selling used stuff. Doesn’t sound so good if I say you made a stupid assumption, I guess.

And?

I’m trying to figure out if you have a point with this.

re: #3 mroop

You can say it is a stupid assumption, I am not offended. I would call it an educated guess. They sell bootlegs like this all over poor communities - cdr and dvdr. Do you think this guy was investing in inventory in the hope that he could sell some of it on the street? What they sell are the latest hits that people want to buy and they are bootlegs. That’s how you make a living. Not with a small random inventory in a box and then hope that someone will buy what you have to sell. I guess you are not familiar with this situation. I saw one article that he was selling movies as well.

Can I just come out and say you’re an ass? Nothing he was doing was a capital crime. There was apparently no reason to shoot him. Your dithering about what form of illegality he was involved in shows that you are unfamiliar with expressing humanity at a time of a person’s death.

re: #5 mroop

I just think it’s funny that the media keeps calling him a cd salesman. As I noted above, he was really a bootlegger but that doesn’t sound so good. In fact, he was actually a cdr salesman!

If your takeaway from this is that it’s funny that the media keeps calling him a cd salesman, I suspect you’re part of the problem.

re: #8 mroop

It appears that there was no reason to shoot him and the cops will probably walk as they almost always do. I try not to get worked up over this stuff because the world is collapsing and we’re all doomed.

I try like hell not to get worked up by anything, but when I see the words of an ass such as yourself, I fail miserably. I’m going to go fix a bike.

re: #10 mroop

I’m just an interested observer of national news. I help out in my community and I stay out of trouble. If anything, I’m a slight positive but I wouldn’t say I’m part of the problem. Reasonable minds can disagree.

None of your comments here give that impression and since that’s all I have to work with, maybe you should consider what attitude you convey online. This is hardly the first time.

That is not good for you. You shouldn’t let the internet upset you so much, not healthy.

What’s unhealthy about fixing a bike?

I use Simple Green to clean ‘em. No petroleum distillates.

Bootleg CD’s. I’m a dead man. Capital crime. Who needs a judge, jury is here. Funny stuff!

re: #15 mroop

That’s why you frequently turn up to comment just on stories that involve cops killing black men. Okay.

re: #17 mroop

But you, as an attorney should yourself know that running is/can an admission of guilt. And you, by right of your same experiences know that some shields takes a personal interest in people they deem “problems.” And you should also know that finding humor in the description of the man who was executed does not do you any good. I am no stranger to psycho cops. Sometimes you have nowhere to run to. Ever have that feeling? A guy is dead because…..Did he talk back? Don’t be a dick.

there’s another aspect to this:

apparently the cops were responding to a 911 caller who said Sterling threatened him with a gun

the call’s not vetted.

so they’re going in predisposed to thinking something. based on an accusation that almost anyone could make. no corroboration or verification. (i get what the 911 system is supposed to do, that’s not my point)

as they’re driving over i dont guess their thinking is “i wonder if the guy has a ccw and if he actually did pull his weapon was he justified?”

based on a 911 call (or even not) it’s “threatening / dangerous man with a gun” before they even got there

Tamir Rice the same way - responding to a 911 -

re: #24 mroop

Thanks Franklin! This could be the first misstatement made by award winning journalist Charles C. Johnson. Btw, I’ve been checking and Mr. Johnson is still banned from Facebook. It could be permanent this time. :) How does this guy pay his bills and who is paying for this? Please God let this moron unknowingly break some laws and get locked up.

Are you being serious, clueless or ironic? Charles C. Johnson is rarely reliable. His journalism award was a RWNJ prize he got in college. He is not banned from Facebook now, but he has made his FB profile private, so you’ll only see stuff posted before he made it private.

His favorite subject is doxxing dead black people to discredit them and blame them for the cops shooting them dead. Anytime you reference that kind of sick bullshit approvingly you are enabling Chuck to get away with it, if not encouraging him to do it again and again.

Get a clue.

A claim of sockpuppetry in the main thread would be my guess.
